🏆 What's Opening on Georgia Street
Signia is Hilton's meetings-focused brand, and this one anchors the convention center expansion just east of the existing halls. The Indiana Convention Center expansion page puts the hotel's meeting space at roughly 90,000 square feet, led by a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom, plus a junior ballroom and a signature ballroom. A climate-controlled skywalk ties it into the convention halls and Lucas Oil Stadium.
Hilton's October 6 announcement laid out the food and drink side. Torchlight is a two-story cocktail lounge on the 38th floor. Rosewater's is the lobby bar opening onto the Georgia Street promenade. Heartwood is a modern American grill starting with breakfast and lunch, with all-day dining planned for spring. Slipstream is a cafe, espresso bar and grab-and-go market. Deck on 5 is a seasonal rooftop pool deck, and Club Signia is a private lounge serving guests from breakfast through evening cocktails. A third-party upscale restaurant is planned for summer 2027.
💼 The Jobs a Hotel This Size Runs On
Four hundred jobs spread across a lot of departments. Hilton's own listings for the hotel note that the opening team is still growing, and postings have run from department heads in sales, catering and human resources down to hourly roles like steward, banquet chef, restaurant host, bellperson and concierge.
Think about it by department. Rooms needs front desk agents, bell staff, concierges and a large housekeeping crew for 803 rooms. Five food and drink outlets plus Club Signia need cooks, stewards, servers, bartenders, baristas and hosts. The ballrooms need banquet servers, setup crews and event coordinators every time a convention rolls in. Engineering and security keep a 38-story tower running around the clock.
Hilton has not published pay ranges in a public announcement, so we are not going to guess at them. Compare what each posting lists, and ask about shift differentials and banquet hours in the interview.
📋 How to Get Hired Before December 9
- Apply through Hilton directly. Search "Signia Indianapolis" on Hilton's careers site. Opening teams hire in waves, so check back weekly.
- Bar and serving jobs need a state permit. Indiana requires bartenders, servers and anyone else who sells or serves alcohol to hold an employee permit from the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. The state's permit FAQ explains how to apply online.
- Say yes to nights, weekends and holidays. A convention hotel lives on event calendars, and December is a busy month downtown.
- Ask about staff parking and transit. Downtown parking adds up fast, so find out what the hotel offers employees before you accept.
